MCL Mission Statement

Members of the Marine Corps League join together in camaraderie and fellowship for the purpose of preserving the traditions and promoting the interests of the United States Marine Corps, banding together those who are now serving in the United States Marine Corps and those who have been honorably discharged from that service that they may effectively promote the ideals of American freedom and democracy, voluntarily aiding and rendering assistance to all Marines, former Marines, FMF Corpsmen and Chaplains and to their widows and orphans; and to perpetuate the history of the United States Marine Corps and by fitting acts to observe the anniversaries of historical occasions of particular interest to Marines.

TREASURE VALLEY DETACHMENT (TVD) of the MARINE CORPS LEAGUE

The decals on your vehicle, the markings on our shirt, or the hat you are wearing identify you as someone who is either a Marine or who has in interest in the US Marine Corps; therefore, I invite you to consider joining the Treasure Valley Detachment of the Marine Corps League. The brother accompanying this note provides basic information on the MCL.

The Marine Corps League is a Veteran’s Service Organization (VSO) similar to the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and the American Legion. The primary difference is the MCL and other VSO’s is that the MCL limits full membership to currently serving and honorably discharged Marine, US Navy Fleet Marine Forces (FMF) Chaplains and Hospital FMF Corpsmen who have served with the operation forces of the Marine Corps. That said, the MCL also has non Marine and non-FMF Hospital Corpsmen auxiliary members to help carry out the purpose of the league.

You may choose to join the league simply for the camaraderie gained from associating with other Marines or to fully participate in all of the activities of the TVDMCL.

We have formal business meetings the third Thursday of every month at the Elks Lodge #1398 located at 1116 1st Street, Nampa, Idaho

We participate in variety of activities at the Boise Veterans Home, Toys for Tots Boise, Color Guards at the Boise Hawks Baseball and Idaho Steelhead Hockey Games. We also have an Honor Guard that attends all Marine funerals at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise, Idaho.

We march in the Boise Veterans Parade, along with the Boise Holiday Parade where we collect toys for Toys for Tots in witch we work with Company C, 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, US Marine Corps Reserve.
